CfBT review of Latifa School March 2008
Secondary
In Secondary Development Teams meet regularly to formulate and implement the Secondary Development Plan. As a result of efforts contributed by the members of these teams, the Secondary now has:

- a coherent policy towards the recognition of student achievement in both academic and non-academic endeavours
- a policy document to guide provision of help to girls who have special educational needs
Amongst the priorities for the current year established in the Secondary Development Plan are:
- the implementation of a new policy for language across the curriculum
- increasing the use of ICT across the curriculum
- enhancing links between the Primary and Secondary schools
- a steering group is creating a whole school audit which is studying key elements of the school's work
Primary
In Primary, development meetings regularly take place, to address and meet the targets identified in the Primary Development Plan. All staff are encouraged to support the school and curriculum developments through Whole Staff, Departmental and Development Meetings.
Items on the Primary Development Plan for this year are:
- Assessment and Target Setting
- Student Voice, Involvement and Responsibility
- Home-School Communication and Parental Partnership
- Evidence – Based Evaluation
- Curriculum Developments
In addition to this, each curriculum co-ordinator sets 'Curriculum Targets' for the academic year.
Latifa School is a school that is continuing to develop. The staff and pupils are working together to improve the standards of education and are committed to continual improvement.
