Homework

Homework, in both Primary and Secondary, is set every night according to a published timetable given to every pupil at the beginning of the school year. Homework is set for a variety of purposes, which include consolidation of knowledge, to improve existing skills and to extend each pupil according to her abilities.

The content of the homework may vary according to individual needs. It may consist of further practise in essential skills, be revision material from an earlier lesson or be an opportunity to carry out further independent research. Homework could take the form of revision material, be practise in essential skills and techniques or be an exercise designed to promote independent research.

Each student is given a homework diary in which to record homework details; parents are expected to sign the homework diary every evening to show that the work has been done to the best of the girl's ability. A booklet describing the School's homework policy is sent to parents of every new student.
